Health Advocacy

Promoting Health and Well-Being

At Tikvah Alive Uganda, we recognize that good health is essential for a thriving community. Our health advocacy programs focus on improving sanitation, promoting healthy practices, and ensuring access to essential healthcare services in schools and urban poor communities. Here’s how we work to improve health and well-being:

Sanitation and Hygiene Education

Proper sanitation and hygiene are crucial for preventing diseases. We conduct educational programs in schools and communities to teach children and families about the importance of handwashing, proper waste disposal, and maintaining clean living environments. Our goal is to instill lifelong habits that promote health and prevent illness.

Sanitary Products and Clean Water Access

Many communities lack access to basic sanitary products and clean water. We provide essential items such as soap, sanitary pads, and water purification tablets to schools and families in need. Additionally, we work on projects to improve access to clean water, such as installing water tanks and building wells.

Health Screenings and Medical Camps

Regular health screenings are vital for early detection and treatment of illnesses. We organize health camps where community members can receive free medical check-ups, vaccinations, and treatments. These camps are staffed by volunteer healthcare professionals who provide valuable services to those who might not otherwise have access to medical care.
